corporate events, training, entertainment
Sometimes described as the ultimate teambuilding event (especially by sailors) yachting sets the challenge of boat and crew against the powerful forces of wind and sea.
Our fleet is set up to cater for all tastes in choice of yacht type and is coded to MCA Category 2 which allows you to sail up to 60 miles offshore. This means that the possible cruising area covers all of the Inner and Outer Hebrides, the North and Northwest Coast of Scotland and Orkney and Shetland, or further South, should time and weather permit.
In addition to the safety aspects, you will find all the yachts thoughtfully fitted out for comfortable cruising as we often sail them ourselves on skippered cruises.
The weather on the West Coast of Scotland can best be described as "variable". In a week it is likely to change several times; in a fortnight we can practically guarantee that you will practice reefing at least once! We have to admit that it rains occasionally. Thus good wet weather gear is strongly advised.
The West Coast of Scotland is beautiful but remote, and the Skipper's sailing experience should reflect the fact that conditions can change rapidly and that the yacht will more often be lying to it's own ground tackle than tied up alongside a cosy pontoon. Whist formal qualifications for the Skipper (Coastal Skipper or above) are useful, they are not essential and we are happy to discuss with you prior to booking how your experience fits the conditions. Alternatively, why not let our experienced skippers sail the boat for you while you relax and enjoy the scenery.
